We take authentic Bourbon Barrel Heads, sourced from the Bourbon Trail (from all the big names) and we clean, glue, clamp and cure them for 24 hours...but wait, there's more...

The next step in the process is to plane both sides of the lid, removing 90%+ of the char from the back, getting the front smooth, clean and ready for the final sanding pass! Our planer is large enough to permit us to plane our lids as one solid lid, getting it closer to perfection (for you)!

Even though the planer "finished" the lid beautifully, we take it one step further and make at least one final sanding pass, on each side, through our industrial drum sander. We don't want it to get so smooth that your masking material may have trouble sticking, so it just gets a nice clean up pass.
It's a dirty job (literally), but somebody's got to do it...
